Start From Table View Feature in SalesPlay POS

February 10, 2026

The “Start From Table View” feature in SalesPlay POS allows users to set a predefined table layout as the main interface for the POS system. This layout becomes the default view before starting sales, enabling cashiers to select a table and begin billing directly from the table layout screen.

Once a receipt is completed or an open bill is saved, the system returns to the table layout view. This feature is particularly beneficial for businesses like restaurants, bars, and pubs, where operations heavily rely on table management.

Example

Imagine a busy restaurant where waitstaff need to quickly assign orders to specific tables. By using the Default Table View feature, the restaurant can streamline the ordering process. When a customer is seated, the cashier can easily select the corresponding table from the main interface, take the order, and upon completing the bill, immediately return to the table layout to assist the next customer. This ensures a smooth and efficient workflow, reducing wait times and improving customer service.

Advantages

  • Enhanced Efficiency: Cashiers can quickly navigate to the table layout, minimizing steps needed to start a sale and process orders.

  • Improved Organization: Clearly visualizing table assignments helps staff manage seating arrangements and monitor table statuses.

  • Ideal for Busy Environments: Especially useful for high-traffic establishments like restaurants, bars, and pubs, where quick table turnover is essential.

How to Activate the Feature

Within Back Office:

  1. Login to your POS Back Office account.
  2. Navigate to Settings → Feature section.
  3. Tick the Reservation button and click Save.
(Once enabled, “Reservation” will appear as a sub-menu under Settings.)
  4. Click Reservation and select a layout from the dropdown menu.
  5. Create and arrange your tables as needed.

Within POS App:

  1. From the POS App main menu, select New Sale.
  2. Click the Table icon in the upper right-hand section.
  3. Click the 3-dot button on the right-hand side of the screen.
  4. Tick the Default View option to set the table layout as the main interface.

How to Deactivate the Feature

If you prefer to use the standard product interface instead of the table layout:

Within POS App:

  1. Navigate to the New Sale section.
  2. Click the Table icon.
  3. Select the 3-dot button on the right-hand side.
  4. Untick the Default View option.

The POS system will then revert to the standard product interface, allowing you to operate without the table layout as the main screen.
