SalesPlay POS includes two types of discount functions: Total Discount and Line/Item Discount.
Discount Types
Total Discount
The Total Discount function allows businesses to apply a discount to the entire transaction. Discounts can be expressed as a percentage or a fixed amount and are applied to the total bill at checkout. This is ideal for promotions, sales, or special offers.
Line/Item Discount
The Line/Item Discount function allows businesses to apply discounts to specific products or items within a transaction. You can offer discounts on individual items, categories, or a combination of products. Line/item discounts can be a percentage off or a fixed value reduction.
1. Apply Discount for the Total Receipt Value
- Add items to the cart and click the Discount icon (near the customer icon).
- Choose Value or Percentage (default is Percentage) and enter the discount amount or percentage.
- Click Add.

- Click the CHARGE button to proceed with the transaction.

2. Apply Line / Item Discount
- Add item(s) to the cart, then click the item in the Item Cart area.
- Go to the discount section and enter the discount value or percentage.
- Click Add to apply the discount.

Line/Item Discount Process Improvement (Version 114.5)
With version 114.5, the Line/Item Discount function has been enhanced for more accurate discounting, especially when giving a value-based discount for multiple quantities of the same product.
What’s New
- Discounts can now be applied as a value or percentage.
- Value Discounts: Previously, value discounts were applied only once per product line, regardless of quantity. Now, the discount is applied per unit and multiplied by the quantity.
Example
If you give a value discount of $2 and the customer buys 3 units, the total discount will now be $6 instead of $2.
